Simmons Helmet Test

This video if funny but it must suck for the goaltender to get hit in the head by a stick and have the stick broken over your head. the goalie must of got paid a lot of money or else i would not of do it. The reasoning for this video is so the viewers can see how resistant the helmet is to damage and can save a goalie from any sort of concussion when playing hockey.

2011 prospect skills competition

this year the prospect skill comp is held at the ACC a first for the CHL. also what is new is that they had two little kid fun every skill challenge to make sure that everything was going right. unlike last year where the clock was not working for the lap race and it turned out to be  total disaster. But was it necessary for the kids to run the shootout and the accuracy shooting because nothing can go wrong technology there, by having the kids run the test it made them look bad because they were not that good and it took a long time for the kids to finish each challenge.

2011 all-star games

With the new format of the all-star game there will be one person that will end up being picked last and no one wants to be that person. Hopefully the one person that gets picked last is a veteran and is secure with their position in the NHL. Also there is the controversy that brother and teammate want to play with each other and if they do not that might be a problem with some people. On the other hand some people some are awaiting the opportunity and are ok with playing against brother and teammates. Some are even taking the opportunity to place bets against teammates if they end up playing against each other. All around the games should be fun and entertaining.

The Best video games of 2010

The past year in video games was an ironic one: big-budget, big-studio sequels for consoles dominated it, but it also saw a revolution in social and mobile gaming. These new platforms have recently opened the doors wide to independent studios, examining the best home-console games of the year; it was obvious that many were new installments in long-running franchises. As a point of pride for Canadians, several of the absolute best were developed here. With no further ado, I present my top 10 games of 2010.

10. GoldenEye 007
9. Halo: Reach
8. Dance Central
7. Kirby’s Epic Yarn
6. God of War III
5. Limbo
4. Call of Duty: Black Ops
3. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
2. Red Dead Redemption
1. Mass Effect 2

Personally I agree with the charts but I wished that black ops did better then 4th place. Also I must admit that the #1 Mass Effect 2 I have never herd of it before.

Call of Duty: Black ops

With the new edition of COD out and not doing well amongst the COD community because of the reputation it has from World at War. The only good thing that has come out of these two COD’s is the Zombies mode that almost everyone is addicted too. The reason that people are not into the new COD games is because they have resorts back into World War 1 and 2 witch people are not interested in anymore. I believe that the people want to see modern day war or even future warfare. I believe that Tray arc will do better if they change the time zone that they are currently

Facebook to tweak contact data sharing.

Facebook has announced that they will announce a new update ensuring that people are aware of what they are really sharing with other people and no more. Facebook announced Friday it would begin making it possible for developers of games, quizzes and other applications on the social networking platform to request permission to access users' contact details. The information could also be shared with external websites if users agree. I am sure people are pleased that they will finally know what personal information they are sharing to people and nothing more.

Hands-Free texting risky, police say

Hands free texting application might be banded say the police because they are afraid that it will become the latest driving distraction. Leaving many of people with out a new solution to text hands free while driving. Police say that the safest and recommended way to text while driving is to pull over and stop then text on the side of the road. I am curios on how the police will out law the application because once people have the application they might not be willing to take it off and it will be hard for the police to enforce this rule.

DVD sails doping because of downloads off of the Internet.

I believe this is not right and people should be charged a fee because they are getting this material for free and illegally from the Internet. My uncle is in the market of DVD sails and because of this his sails have dropped by 40%. This is illegal and should not be aloud people should be charged a fee and the money goes to the makers of the video so this market can continue to grow and not go under.

IPhone 4 Recall.

IPhone 4 Recall.
So what do you do, Steve?
Simple.  You come clean.  That's the Apple image and you built it that way.  So here is what you need to do, fast.
1. Admit your rare mistake.  Have Jony do a video on what you learned.  Apple gets all due credit for great design but now it's time to take the bullet for poor design.  People will trust you more next time.  Apple thrives on that trust.  No way will you get people lining up outside your stores for days if you don't rebuild it.
2. Fix the problem. In your new iPhone 4 (rev2) figure out how to use the user's finger to increase the signal strength instead of coupling it from one antenna to the other.  Or at least change the design so the width of a human finger can't cross-couple the antennas (make a less conductive dead zone near the bands.)
3. Make it right.  Create a new, limited edition "Early Adopter" silver bumper for the first 3 million iPhone 4 users and provide them free in your stores.  Make it a big deal!  Invite the customers to come into the store to get their special bumper and auto-enter them into a "thank you" contest.  One winner wins one of EVERY APPLE PRODUCT in the store.  Hire a street team to find customers using these limited edition bumpers for the next 60 days and give them $100 iTunes gift cards instantly. Give away $10M worth of iTunes cards (you'll make it all back anyway).
My opinion: I am amazed at how affective the apple marketing can be. By having such a big problem with a new product and then still being able to recover from their mistakes is amazing. Also by hosting a competition with a huge grand prize a brilliant way to make new customers aware of how great the product really is.

Should Sidney Crosby playing the all-star game?

Sidney Crosby has missed 12 games now with a concussion and could possibly miss more. I don’t think he should aloud because if he is still questionable and not fully 100% I don’t believe he should risk it and play in the all-star game. I believe Sidney should take this time of the all-star game to rest and get better and get better in stead of putting his health on the line and play not at 100%.

Xbox Kinect vs. PS3 Wand

With these two companies have eliminated to the Wii from the race of major gaming company. Only leaving Xbox and PS3, I believe PS3 is better with the wand then Xbox because the PS3 has more games interactive games for kids and teenagers. Eventually Xbox will come out with interactive games for kids and teens but it might be a while before we see anything from Xbox for the kinect system.

Sharks may be color-blind!

A new study suggests sharks may be color-blind, challenging the long-held belief they were mainly attracted to yellow. The joint study by researchers at the University of Queensland and University of Western Australia says it is the contrast that is important, not the color itself. Their finding appears in the journal Naturwissenschaften (Natural Sciences). The researchers say more studies need to be done, but their advice is to avoid wearing bright costumes of any color when swimming in the ocean. Sharks were thought to be mainly attracted to yellow, based on tests carried out by the United States navy. The researchers in Australia measured light-sensitive cells in the sharks' eyes to determine whether they could see colors.
This article is very interesting showing they way that sharks live and now we are able to continue studying sharks and they’re living patterns.

Ipad user data nets U.S. charges.

Two hackers stole the email addresses of more than 100,000 Apple IPad users, including those of politicians and famous media personalities, U.S. federal prosecutors said Tuesday in announcing criminal charges against two men. Spiller, a 26-year-old bookstore security guard from San Francisco, and Andrew Auernheimer, 25, of Fayetteville, Ark., face charges of fraud and conspiracy to access a computer without authorization. Fishman characterized the men and their cohort as engaging in "malicious one-upsmanship" as they sought to impress each other and others in the online community. I believe that Apple should always put their customers and their previse first on their list also AT&T should also have the previse of their customers. With this happening the image of Apple might change for some people and they might think of buying another product from them in the future. Even if this does happen Apple is such a company that it will not affect the company in any way.

Top 10 Christmas Gift for 2010.

The top three of ten best gifts include the MacBook pro and the iPhone third is the iPod. This is great marketing by Apple and just proving how popular Apple is amongst teenagers and kids for Computers and technology. I believe that Apple is an amazing company for technology and will continue to be number one for many Christmases to come. I have a MacBook pro and I love it, it is much better then any other computer I have ever owned and I am for sure recommending it to many people to invest in a Mac.

Nintendo’s 3-D handheld gaming system goes on sale in US in March for $250.

NEW YORK, Promising to users a new era in 3-D entertainment, Nintendo says its glasses-free handheld 3DS will go on sale on March 27 in the U.S. for US$250. That's the same price that the revolutionary Wii console cost when it went on sale in 2006. The president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, and said Wednesday the 3DS is a "truly unique experience that doesn't exist anywhere else." The gadget features a touch screen on the bottom and a 3-D screen on top. It has three cameras, one facing the user and two facing outward. The latter two let you take 3-D photos, which can be instantly displayed on the screen. Nintendo Co. says more than 30 games will be available for the 3DS by June.

How mobile costs can cripple your company

When you look in your briefcase or at your desk, does an iPhone stare back at you? A Droid? Apple, Google and Microsoft aren't just bringing new devices to market; they're also setting new standards for how businesses communicate. That smart device staring up at you, multiply it by hundreds of thousands; it's taking a significant financial and security toll on most large enterprises. The rules of the game have changed, and businesses will need to play offense, not defense, to stay ahead.
Most enterprise organizations today are playing defense when it comes to managing mobility costs. As a result, they are doing only a fair to poor job of tracking, managing and securing smartphone devices — and that is costing them millions. Much of that money disappears in a slow trickle that is hard to see in a glance at the books.

Bird patterns shifting with climate: birder.

New Brunswick's changing climate is causing the province's bird population to shift its patterns, according to an avid birdwatcher. David Christie of the New Brunswick Federation of Naturalists has been poring over reports from the annual Christmas bird count. More than 130 species and as many as 150,000 birds will be logged in this year's bird count, he said. Christie said the latest count, which took place at 50 locations over a three-week period, shows evidence that New Brunswick's climate is getting warmer and that it is altering bird migration patterns. "We're getting birds that are apt to stay further north and also pushing their range further northwards," Christie said. He pointed to the turkey vulture, which usually migrates south in October or November. "Some of them have been hanging back and staying further north than they normally would and so they've showed up in places like Saint John. And Hampton recorded their first ever turkey vultures on the Christmas bird count this winter. But Christie said the possibility of birds staying in new places over the winter may mean trouble. "Surviving through this December, being tough enough to do that, may not necessarily mean that you're going to be tough enough to survive the latter half of January and February," he said. The Christmas bird count is part of a wider count sponsored by the Audubon Society throughout the Americas.

In store WiFi is great for comparison shopping, but it comes with risks

This morning, Deloitte Canada released a new report that talks about one tactic retailers are taking to combat that little voice in my head. In its annual Technology,Media, and Telecommunications Predictions report, Deloitte says there's going to be a real trend towards free in-store WiFi to help customers comparison-shop. Rather than wonder about prices elsewhere, people will be able to use a smartphone or other mobile device to compare prices. It seems a bit counter-intuitive. If I run a store, why on Earth would I want to help my customers compare my prices to the competition? We've certainly heard a lot of stories recently about the dangers of unsecure, open WiFi. Activity can be monitored, and email and social networking accounts can be hijacked. All of the risks associated with open WiFi in coffee shops and airports and hotel lobbies apply to open WiFi in retail stores, too. Personally, I wouldn't do anything on a store's WiFi connection that I wouldn't want that store — or the whole world — to know about. There are risks on the retailer's side, too. Stores probably don't want customers using their WiFi to download illegal content, deface Wikipedia pages, or send threatening messages to the Prime Minister. Of course, stores can block access to certain sites and services, but this is the kind of thing that really needs to be closely monitored.

Penguins harmed by banding

For years, flipper banding has been used to tag and monitor penguin populations, but findings say that of a 10-year study could be the death of the practice. French and Norwegian researchers who studied 50 banded and 50 non-banded free-roaming king penguins on Antarctica's Possession Island say the practice impairs reproduction and reduces life-expectancy. Some previous studies concluded the metal bands had no long-term ill effects on the birds. The new study, published Thursday in the journal Nature, disputes the earlier assumption that penguins adapted to bands within a year. The researchers, led by Claire Saraux of France's University de Strasbourg, say that over the course of the study, flipper-banded penguins produced 39 per cent fewer chicks and had a 16 per cent lower survival rate. During the 10-year study, 80 per cent of the banded birds died, while only 64 per cent of the unbranded birds died, demonstrating a dramatically reduced life expectancy for those with bands.

6 rare frogs found in Haiti

Six frogs that haven’t been seen in more than 14 years have been rediscovered in Haiti. The frogs were found in one of the remote mountains in the country’s southwest in October.  The non-profit group has been funding expeditions around the world since July to search for 100 species of amphibians that haven't been seen in more than a decade. He said the massive earthquake that struck Haiti a year ago Wednesday, killing 230,000 people and leaving 800,000 homeless, has indirectly threatened many rare amphibian species in the struggling nation. Haiti is home to 49 native species of amphibians, many of them very rare, including 15 that are found nowhere else in the world, Conservation International reports. Less than two per cent of Haiti's original forest remains, and a lot of rare frogs are confined to two small patches of just a few square mile each: Massif de la Hotte, in the country's southwest, and Massif de la Selle, in the southeast near the capital of Port-au-Prince.

Dear me in Grade 9

Dear me in the past,

I am in the future in grade 11 here to give you some help full tips. First pay attention in school so you can preform to your fullest and stay focused. 2nd friends that you have, continue to make a relationship with them and don't be afraid to be socialize with them. But don't forget about school because school always comes first, and if u stay focused in school you will have a better future. 3rd don't get into any bad habits and don't get into a position where you will get pressured into doing drugs. Lastly try out for school hockey because i love hockey and it would be really fun and you will not regret it.

sincerely, Del from the future.

In this collage i took two pictures of the school showing what it looks like in the future and continued with a picture of a graduation hat representing how school and education are important things to have and to never forget that it is always comes first. Then i put a picture of school hockey and how much fun i had and yet is did not tryout in grade 11 and i regret that so maybe by reminding me how much fun i had i might tryout in grade 11. I also put a picture of two kids playing air hockey because i love to play air hockey at my house and i am always sad when there is know one to play with me and if i had better relationship with my friends they might be around to play air hockey with me.  Lastly i did a picture saying don't do drugs because i have never had a problem with them before and i plan never to. This is just a reminder not to get involved with drugs and the future will look good and dandy.
